Driving Directions to Section 1 trailhead at Springer Mountain from Daholnega:

From GA 52 and Ga 9 (west of Dahlonega), take Ga 52 west for 4.5 miles, turn right on Nimblewill Church Road and follow 2.2 miles, turn right o FS 28-1 and go about 7.0 miles to the four-way FS 42- FS 58- FS 77 junction at Winding Stair Gap. After 2.1 miles the road forks, head up and to the left onto FS 77. Turn left on FS 42. Go through Big Stamp Gap for about 1.7 miles to a parking lot where the AT crosses the AT. Hike South on the at for about .9 miles to the beginning of the BMT trail.

At Parking lot go westerky and pick up double Springs gap. Take Double Springs Gap all the way to GA 60, turn right, go one mile and park.
